Santanol focuses purely on Indian sandalwood (Santalum album) – the benchmark against which all other sandalwoods are measured.
The company uses sustainable management practices guided by a highly advanced scientific program to produce the highest quality products for its customers.
Other than the bark and leaves, almost all of the sandalwood tree is used.
Santanol uses traditional, low pressure steam distillation to produce oil from the roots, trunks and large branches of the trees we grow. The oil is collected in multiple fractions and blended to meet customer specifications.
Large, straight, well dimensioned logs are selected at harvest and dried under controlled conditions to produce stable timber suitable for furniture production, carving and other solid wood use. Logs are available in a range of sizes.
Wood that is not suitable for oil production is chipped to customer specification for use in agarbatti production. This product is available in bulk.
Trees growing in the plantations can be selected by customers for special purpose use. Santanol experts will carefully remove the whole tree, including roots and branches and arrange for it to be packed and shipped anywhere in the world.
Wood that has been through our oil extraction process still retains a degree of the essential oils. Spent charge is available in bulk chipped form.
